ERRATIC: Donald Trump was UNHINGED on Fox News today.

🙄 President Trump called into Fox & Friends this morning for what was billed as an update on Iran, and over the course of one phone interview managed to say four separate things that don’t survive a moment’s thought. Here they are. 👇

First, on his tariffs, he claimed: “I stopped 8 wars, I would say 5 of them because of tariffs. The threat of tariffs stopped India and Pakistan from going into a nuclear war.” So the threat of a more expensive import was, apparently, more terrifying to two nuclear powers than nuclear war itself.

Second, asked directly by Brian Kilmeade whether his new tariffs would hurt the economy, he said no, “because it’s bringing in hundreds of billions of dollars.” A tariff is a tax on imports that Americans pay. So the reassurance is that it’s fine the economy is being squeezed, because the government is collecting the squeeze.

Third, on the Strait of Hormuz, he delivered this: “Only ships that we want to get through get through. Iran doesn’t control the strait. We control the strait. Now, they can drop a couple of mines in there and screw things up. But we control the strait.” We’re in total control, except for the part where the other side can shut it down whenever they like.

And fourth, when Kilmeade gently noted that Iran had publicly said it wasn’t talking to the US, Trump insisted “they just came out and said we are talking.” Kilmeade, reasonably, asked who. Trump’s answer: “We’ve had some very good talks.” No name. No details. Just vibes.

None of this is out of context, it’s one interview, this morning. And it comes as the New York Times reports that Trump’s own aides describe him as more “erratic” than usual, struggling to find a face-saving exit from the war he started five months ago. When the baseline is already what it is, and it gets worse, everyone should pay attention. Because all of us are in the car. 🇺🇸
